Before getting to the scene of Man’s astonishing Woman. Something extraordinary came to mind from someone very dear to me that I’d like to share with those who will also appreciate this perception with a touch of mine. In your mind’s eye put yourself at the scene of Adam being sculpted, formed from the soil of the ground into flesh and bone by our Creator, not yet placed in the garden of Eden.
7 Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living [f]being. (Genesis 2)
Can you see this figure of a God Man bent over toward the ground, shaping a Being…that would form His likeness, made in His image?
27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1)
In this vision imagine the God Man as the pre-incarnate Jesus. The same Jesus that the Apostle John testified about as the Word of God, at the beginning—the beginning of Creation. So the same Jesus that sculpted Adam, is the same Jesus that visited Abraham in the book of Genesis 18, also the same Jesus wrestling with Jacob in Genesis 32:24-32. Now tell me that isn’t awesome!
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” (John 1:1-5)
