The Letter of Truth

If you’ll allow me, Reader, let me invite you into something mysterious.

As you breathe, simultaneously, you die.
How can what contains death bear life?
Or why does what contains life experience death?

Wherever you are—be it morning, midnight, or the murk of the in-between—I invite you to settle in with coffee or tea. This may take a moment.

Cheers ☕️,

Do our souls not contain the evidence of truth?
Whether good or evil, is that truth not made visible in the way we live?

What is the truth?

If you and I can agree on our experiences of life and death, then we must face the truth together.
If it’s true that I’m writing and you’re reading, then we must acknowledge—there is a Writer and a Reader.

The Writer of our lives has given us a letter of truth that bears witness to our consciences; and our consciences, in turn, testify to that letter by reporting the value of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12:1–3
“…fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross…”

So if the Holy Spirit is that letter of truth—present within our souls to convict us of sin so that we might repent and be saved—then what is the value of Jesus Christ?

John 16:5–11
“…And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment…”

The cost is repentance—turning from allegiance to this world and its ruler.
But that’s not all.
What does it cost to become a disciple of Jesus Christ?

Luke 9:23–27
“If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it…”

The death of your life is this: to deny yourself and put on the ministry of the Word of God.
Will you trust in Him and be filled with the Holy Spirit?

It is a fact that the world is convicted by the Holy Spirit.
And it is a fact that our consciences bear witness to this truth—
Allowing us to live unto salvation by our mouths—“Jesus is Lord”—and our hearts—“God raised Him from the dead.”

It is also a fact that the ruler of this world is judged by the Spirit’s presence—And that those who remain in bondage are marked by condemnation—“Jesus is not Lord”—and wrath—“God did not give nor raise His Son from the dead.”

How do you respond to the letter of truth?

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Look at the Lord.
