Day 4: Discipline and Restoration

Focus: God’s loving correction and the consequences of ongoing sin.

Key Scripture: “For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He punishes every son whom He accepts.” (Hebrews 12:6)

Devotional Content:
God’s discipline is not punishment but loving correction meant to restore us to righteousness. It is a sign of His care for us as His children. Jesus’ warning to the healed man at Bethesda reminds us that continuing in sin after restoration can lead to even worse consequences. Discipline teaches us to take sin seriously and pursue holiness.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How have you experienced God’s discipline in your life?
  2. How did it draw you closer to Him?

Prayer Prompt:
Lord, thank You for loving me enough to correct me. Help me to see Your discipline as a sign of Your care and to respond with a heart willing to change. Amen.

Practical Application:

  • Reflect on areas where God may be disciplining you and ask for His help to respond in obedience.
  • Write down a lesson you’ve learned through God’s discipline and thank Him for it.
