THE MYSTERY

There is a woman traveling for the first time to meet with people she has only heard about, as she closes her eyes and grips her seat for take-off, balancing between being terrified of flying and thoughts inducing extreme anxiety, she takes deep breathes to help try and calm her nerves about the business meeting. The seatbelt light turns off and she immediately goes to lavatory. She shifts her focus and remembers this scripture.

It’s crazy to think about how suddenly my focus shifts. My spirit is either being influenced by the world to focus on the the things of the world or from the kingdom of Jesus above to focus on the mission of the gospel here on earth.

When I am influenced by the world I experience what the woman is experiencing on the plane, but when I’m influenced by the gospel I remember courage by the truth of my faith in the Lord. While there is a necessary nervous respect for the ‘yet to experience’ plan that awaits, there is also mental and emotional stability that accompanies knowing Who my Helper is!
