Octo 1, 2023: Solve Scripture

TODAY’S MYSTERY

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is a lie, no offense to the folk phrases of the 19th century, but that one is foolish. According to the ‘wisdom of the wise’ there’s power in a particular part of the human anatomy that produces fruit capable of giving life or taking it, and we love to eat that fruit! What part of us has the capacity to produce such a fruit?

[Will you be the first to solve the scripture within the mystery?]

SCRIPTURE CLUES
  • Proverbs 10:19 – In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
  • Matthew 5:11-12Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
  • Psalms 32:8 – I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

JOURNAL

I was disappointed when, after I’d published yesterday’s scripture mystery for solving, that Google easily interpreted it with the answer [Proverbs 10:19]. However, I was encouraged by Laura (my wife) that, “Sometimes its just going to be that way.” I like a good challenge though, something that gives me that feeling, you know… like you’ve achieved greatness or something, like you’ve beaten the final level of your potential and the affirmation is surreal.

In reflecting on the “scripture clues” I wonder if I’ve written the right amount of words, not too much or too little, but the right amount for wisdom to judge as wise.
while I’d like to say that I’m persecuted for the sake of Christ as the prophets of old it would be a lie, because the history records of such persecution seem unfathomable today from my experience thus far, although… there was that one season.
I pray for such instruction and teaching, for such guidance by His divine Eye.
