As of right now, technically, I’m not a member of any church. At the close of every year the membership at Watermark Community Church drops to “zero” which frees me up to sin a little bit before recommitting… of course that’s not true, that’s not how it works.

How I understand the Church was designed and built by Christ since the beginning, looked something like this:

To the church of God which is at Corinth (2 Cor)

…who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea (Rom 16)

The church that is at Babylon (1 Pet 5)

Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. (Col 4)

The christian churches in the 214 area code are the church at Dallas, TX. So technically, I’m not only a member of the church at the Watermark Community House (building), but a servant to all the brethren in the 469, 972, and 945 area codes as long as the Lord has me here. We are the church at Dallas, not a specific denomination or sect of christianity, just, “church at ___.“

Did you catch a detail of that last example? How can a church be a building when it specifically says, “…church which is in his house.”? Why would a building be inside a building? This detail teaches us that you and I as believers in Jesus Christ are in fact, the church…wherever we go in unity of His Name! Whether that be the Watermark Mansion or your own house, you are the church all the same if your faith is obedient to that of Christ by the Holy Spirit in you through His Blood.

We are the church in 2022 at the Kingdom of God—Mark ^1:15 …and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
