How Faith Makes One Perfected In Love

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

1 John 4:18

Don’t confuse the language of fear in this verse with the language of fear in the Lord, because the meaning of fear in this verse is very different than having the fear of the Lord (Pro 14:26). If you believe in Jesus Christ as the living Son of God that has come in the flesh (1Jo 4:2) then you have no reason to fear as described because our faith produces confidence in love that fills the place of fear (Heb 4:16) through conversion. God is love (1Jo 4:16)!

  • But you might be struggling with doubt or disbelief that God is love?
  • Or it might be that your belief is secure, but your faith is in question?

I pray this devotional will encompass you with perfect love. We need to establish the experience of faith to understand how love is perfected as the previous devotional incited. To do that, lets distinguish the difference between belief and faith because the relationship between the two reveals the invisible power of God for salvation to glorification. If you’re not a Christian, please consider following along our devotionals.

THE TREASURE OF FAITH

If you are a Christian, then you know who Jesus Christ is because you’ve heard and believed in the good news of the gospel; God sent His only Son (Jesus Christ) to be that Person who took away the sin of the world (Jhn 1:29, Heb 9:26). That means every repentant believer—although experiencing the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life—is born again to salvation through the baptism of Jesus Christ (Mat 3:13-17, 1Jo 2:16, Rom 10:8-13, Mark 16:16, Act 2:38). When our Lord was baptized, the heavens opened and our heavenly Father said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”(Mat 3:17). Why was our heavenly Father well-pleased?

Justice for sin is the death of this world unless it passes over somehow for life to exist eternally. To be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect means to have faith in the love of God—For God so loved the world—that He gave us the example of faith (Jhn 3:16-21). So to believe in Jesus means we’ve experienced salvation from our sin by the transfer of our account, that’s right, money and all—the sin of our souls—onto the cross of Jesus Christ. That requires faith! We no longer fear death because our lives are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ who still lives (Act 2:33)! And that is how death passes over those who believe. So to have faith in Jesus means our future is established in heaven where He is right now (Rom 8:35-39)!

The relationship between belief and faith is a declaration of trust in the invisible work of God. The aim of our faith is what casts out fear because we look to Jesus Christ!

The two most difficult tasks of faith conversion:

(1)Dying to the idol worship of yourself (because when your faith is in sin—rejection of the truth—your belief remains in the evil one of this world Jhn 8:44). The other is (2)loving your enemy to the extent Jesus loves you (because it’s only natural to gravitate toward the comfort of your environment (Gal 2:11-13) and harbor animosity against your abusers — to not care for the life of your enemies Mat 5:43-48). But when your belief is united by faith in Jesus (Heb 4:2), you’ve overcome the evil one (1Jo 2:12-14) and have the power to love your enemy even to death; your life is converted by the aim of your faith because your belief rests where Jesus is now (Heb 4:3). And so you are converted from a lifestyle of condemnation to a lifestyle of freedom; that is the promise of God and work of the Holy Spirit (Jhn 3:36). Our mission is clear, tell the world, and hope they hear (Luk 2:10-11).

How To Be Perfect

Weigh The Meaning Of Value In The Balance

QUESTIONING VALUE

I’ve been thinking A LOT about the significance of “value” for a few weeks now… “what does it mean? How is it defined? When I wake up and decide to drink some water, take in sustenance; I don’t naturally think to myself… “why am I doing this?”. I just do it. But thinking about it now, it feels as though I’m a slave to this…“value system. Things just don’t add up. “Is this our purpose in life?” Wake up and use the restroom, drink water, eat food, calculate your contribution to life and go to work. “Where is the value?”, I wonder. I’ve decided to detach myself from what I think the meaning of value is in the world and take on a different approach. “What if I choose to go to work without earning money?” The idea is to work as though I wasn’t going to receive a paycheck, that may sound stupid but in principle, it’s not. Money is not God, it is a necessary tool of prerogative for not offending the world governed by such a value system (as though it is God). Let me explain.

In the gospel according to Matthew 17:24-27; my understanding from research is that the temple tax collectors came to Capernaum and confronted Peter about Jesus paying the temple tax (that apart from the priests every Jew 20 years and above was required to pay) which is basically contributing to the upkeep of the temple (where God dwells). And seeing how Jesus and the apostles were not considered priests of the temple, they too were required to pay this tax according to the custom of old testament law. However, let’s investigate what Jesus says and does about this temple tax collection considering how Jesus is actually, the ultimate Priest. The power of the priest is found in virtue, not money. Observe…

24 When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax came to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax?” 25 He *said, “Yes.” And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs or poll-tax, from their sons or from strangers?” 26 When Peter said, “From strangers,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are exempt. 27 However, so that we do not offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for you and Me.”

Now according to google and the coinmill converter, a shekel today is worth 0.29 cents of the United States Dollar. There is so much I want to dive into with this idea of currency, but what fascinates me presently is the measure of value exchange between the Israelite’s and their temple priests collecting this two-drachma tax at that time. According to my research—specifically amazing discoveries—in Exodus 30 and Numbers 3 we find the reason for this contribution to the temple.

11 The LORD also spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “When you take a census of the sons of Israel to number them, then each one of them shall give a ransom for himself to the LORD, when you number them, so that there will be no plague among them when you number them. 13 This is what everyone who is numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs), half a shekel as a contribution to the LORD. 14 Everyone who is numbered, from twenty years old and over, shall give the contribution to the LORD.(Exodus 30:11-14)

44 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 45 “Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel and the cattle of the Levites. And the Levites shall be Mine; I am the LORD. 46 For the ransom of the 273 of the firstborn of the sons of Israel who are in excess beyond the Levites, 47 you shall take five shekels apiece, per head; you shall take them in terms of the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs), 48 and give the money, the ransom of those who are in excess among them, to Aaron and to his sons.” (Numbers 3:44-48)

But why did Jesus make a point to question Peter about the collection of customs? Who are the kings of the earth? And why did Jesus say that the sons are exempt? It sounds to me like Jesus is clarifying a point for Peter to recall later. Are all Israelites exempt from such customs? The answer is yes, but it was not time for that answer to come into fruition yet. The next phrase from Jesus is of most importance because it gives revelation to the meaning of value. “However, so that we do not offend them…“, but why? Why not offend these collectors with the truth about the pointlessness of this contribution?

Mercedes

Robbed

Mercedes…

When I got the call from our sister (Kelsie) about the news, didn’t know how to respond other than contact police departments to try and scrabble information. I didn’t want to believe what I heard, “NOO!…”.

The feeling to describe the state of loss was…ROBBED…because you and I are designed to live holding our grandparents and parents hands as they come of age to meet our Lord. I felt robbed of the many more years to experience life with you. And it was actually some friends (Daniel included) of mine that “coined” this feeling because of how they could relate to what I was presently experiencing—”feeling of being… robbed”.

And so here I am, robbed. Because when I go to message you now, there is no response, only…silence. Which is nothing like you at all. I think you might be one of the most obnoxious people I know apart from me. I mean, not that it was a competition or anything. Ha. That’s a laugh. Everything is a competition when you’re a free spirit; that’s what makes life interesting, reckless, and fun! Anyway… I can think of a few others in our family that are just as crazy as us and yet… still alive, go figure.

And for the record, Sadie, you cheated. I’m older, and it’s only fair that the elder goes first. Yes, you’re a lady and all. And myself, a gentlemen. But rules are rules. I get that ladies go first, but that’s cheating…sis!

Even though the feeling was a feeling of being robbed. After mourning and depression…have come to be at peace by the comfort of friends and family encouragement. But not only that, also in processing these moments I shared with you in our salvational engineering group discussion on facebook.

But I also feel the strength to not give up and to be around as much as possible to show the person the happiness and light I live in daily. I believe he made me for these types of people. Relatable to all types and strong in faith

I believe He (God) did too, Sadie. And I pray any friend and family that reflects on memories of you, they are comforted as I am by the motive of your heart.

I hate seeing beautiful souls get lost in thoughts of helplessness in their dark times … Now I just need them to want to ask questions and be ready and educated in my faith when it comes to those questions.

Me and you both, Sadie! I hope any person that ever comes to know you by testimonies about you, they will ask questions about that contentment and light, that hope, and us be ready and educated in faith to answer the hard questions. And while I’m not a judge to determine justice for any soul can only hope that every soul of which knows us will know Christ Jesus to be their salvation as He is ours.

Robbed

Speaking of answers to hard questions. The questions that surrounded the feelings of being robbed are put rest by answers that aren’t governed by my bias ideas of where you might be now, spiritually speaking. I can only hope to see you again in the clouds with Jesus Christ; while my dependency of that hope does not rest necessarily upon the sight of seeing you again, rather, that our sights together are focused on seeing Him because of the truth that Jesus Christ is the author and perfecter of our faith.

I love you Sadie! And don’t worry about Titan, the boy is in trustworthy hands.

Titan, BIG MAN TITAN…

You’re not quite old enough to read this yet, but one day, you will be. And I want you to know that your mom loved and still loves you sooooo sooo much. Don’t ever loose sight of that truth because it will be a compass for your soul. Don’t suppress the emotions of your heart, let the world know who you are. But understand this from your uncle Nathan, life is a mystery of proverbs that are worth discovering to learn from the Good Book.

Let the Bible be your compass in guiding you to life, truth, and love.

Here’s a quick story to remember your mom by: It was when we (me and your mom) were kids, just a few years older than you but can’t remember exactly what it was we were doing. I think it was either a game of tag or hide-n-go-seek. It’s a vague memory.

But that’s beside the point.

What I think I remember your mom running full speed away from was—getting tagged. She was always extremely competitive and quite fearless! Anytime there was a challenge, your mom was up for the task of proving her abilities. So as she was running full speed, focused and determined, nothing could stop her until… WHAM!

There was this horizontal steel pole that came out of no where, leveled her, knocking the air out of her as she hit the ground. But you know what… she got back up, she didn’t give up. Your mom was tough, just like you! And did you take notice of how focused and determined? She was, unstoppable.

And so even when obstacles come out of nowhere to stop you, Titan. Get back up, and don’t give up….

I love you.

How Can A Good God Allow Suffering?

A good God can allow suffering because He is merciful. Let me explain.

IT GETS HARDER

The sixth and final question asked of the group brings up the problem of evil, but the original query that was asked was even tougher because it removed a core argument from the debate – freewill. So here is the full question that I will answer.

How can a good God allow suffering? Freewill seems just like an excuse.

I found this question to be quite difficult. I think the removal of freewill is the cause of my challenge in finding a complete answer. Freewill is not just an excuse. It is an essential piece to the human story. It is an essential piece to any love story. How can one love without choice? Does a wife love her husband because she can do nothing but love him? The question doesn’t even make sense. Love falls apart without freewill.

I digress.

Below are 7 statements backed by scripture to help understand the problem of suffering, doing my best not to harp on freewill. I prayed this would be God breathed and I pray now that this would be helpful to you.

1. Justice for all means extinction

If God were to end all suffering right now by bringing justice to the guilty everyone would be dead (Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:23, Romans 6;23). Suffering is the result of sin. Sin is done by sinners. We are all sinners. Therefore in order to get rid of suffering you must get rid of the sinner, and that would mean no one could be allowed to exist. The problem isn’t just some evil force working to do harm to all people. The problem is us.

2. God is merciful

God does not bring swift judgement to end all humanity (and all suffering) immediately because He loves us and is merciful (Psalm 86:5, Luke 6:36). 2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” God has not judged us yet because he wants everyone to be saved.

3. God did not design a world with suffering.

In the beginning God created good. We see that over and over again in Chapter 1 of Genesis (Genesis 1:10, 12, 18, 21, 25, 31). In Chapter 2 we even see that the relationship between man and woman is in good standing (Genesis 2:25). God did not design a world of suffering. This planet and its current affairs are not what He wanted for us.

4. Suffering is the result of human decision(s)

Genesis 3 lays out how what humans did to bring suffering into the world. They desired to be God, and they took action to achieve that goal in direct disobedience to God’s rule. Adam and Eve started a terrible tradition where men continue to try and replace God. This is the beginning of suffering. Elevating our thoughts, ideas, or desires above other’s wants and needs produces suffering. Our decision to lie at work hurts our employer and our customer. Having sex with a previous lover introduces possible insecurities in our next partner. Our rude, flippant remark at someone’s elementary mistake can scar an individual for a lifetime. We are the vicim and perpetrator of suffering.

5. God suffers with us

We are not alone in our suffering. God has done something really, really profound. He has chosen to suffer with us. In Mark 14:31 – 15:41 we witness God in human form (Jesus) experience dread, close friends unable to be there for Him in his time of need, betrayal, injustice, false accusations, disownment by a close friend, being mocked, torture, disgrace, public shame, and asphyxiation. Our God knows our suffering. He knows it intimately.

I’m not sure we understand the complete absurdity of this. God actually has experienced our suffering. It would be like if we were to go and experience the troubles of a worm. The individual worm’s suffering has no bearing on our life. There is no need for it. It makes no sense.

Unless there is love.

6. Suffering is not without purpose

A lot of us ask the question ‘why there is suffering in the world,’ but I think a more relevant and impactful question is ‘why do I suffer?’ The Bible tells us that our suffering has purpose (John 9:1-3, 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10; Luke 14:13-14; Acts 20:35).

This too is also quite profound. There must be suffering in this world because sin exists, but there does’t have to be purpose behind it. The purpose of suffering is a grace God has given to us in the midst of pain. He has found a way to make evil result in good.

7. God has taken action

When people say God has done nothing to combat evil and suffering that is a lie. God has done something and will do more.

He has always been a God of mercy and action. Even after the first sin God made clothes for Adam and Eve to help them cover their shame. He sent his only son to take our punishment for our sins so we can have peace and eternal life (John 3:16).

Finally, Jesus is coming back and His new kingdom is going to be epic. There will be no tears, pain, or death (Revelation 21:4). This world and its ways will pass away, and thank God!

Conclusion

The problem of evil and suffering is a very culturally relevant issue. I heard Neil DeGrasse Tyson give suffering and evil as the reason he does not believe in a good, all powerful God. He did not say because there was a lack of evidence. He didn’t say it was impossible. He said because there is evil and suffering. That reason does not stand, and we have an answer for it.

Please remember that just because we are people of faith does not mean that we are people without reason. Our God made the rules of this universe and any honest science will not disprove Him.

How can a good God allow suffering? Freewill seems just like an excuse.

I found this question to be quite difficult and I still don’t think I am satisfied with the answer I prepared below. I think the removal of freewill is the cause of my difficulty in this. It is not just an excuse. It is an essential piece to the human story. It is an essential piece to any love story. How can one love without choice? Is My Unbelieving Loved One In Hell?

Yes. Your deceased, unbelieving loved one is in hell, but I wouldn’t lead with that. Let me explain.

A Reminder

When these six questions were brought to my group they were all challenges we were scared to have someone ask us as a believer. Can you imagine your new friend bringing this loaded question to you? How do you respond to it without losing a soul, but also with gentleness and tact?

How To Respond

Each situation is unique and I would not approach every person the same way, but I think you could combine the truths listed below in a number of different ways and maintain integrity, gentleness, & truthfulness.

1. Speak Truth

It is important to speak truthfully and lovingly into this piercing, heartfelt question. This query is one of heartbreak. Please be gentle with this person, but don’t misrepresent the truth. A well timed word can comfort the heart and a lie can lose souls.

2. Read The Room

Before you bring your sword of truth to bear, remember this -> We do not know with 100% certainty the final state of a person’s heart; only God knows and sees that. We do know that God is good, just, and a God of mercy. We can trust Him to do the right thing, and He is the one that makes the final judgement, not us. So before you declare the truth to your friend see if you need to tend to their heart. Sometimes a hug and a ‘I don’t know” may be all that is needed.

3. A Message From The Grave

We may not know where their loved one is with 100% certainty, but we do know, whether in heaven or hell, they have a desire for your friend. The parable in Luke 16:19-31 tells of a rich man sentenced to hell. There he is starved of the goodness of God and is filled with agony. He begs that his family would be told the right way to get to heaven… No matter where our deceased loved ones are, they want us to know Jesus.

4. Heaven On Earth

The after life will always contain some mystery, but there are certain things we can thank God for now. In this life their loved one got to experience the goodness of God in what is known as common grace: food to enjoy, satisfying work, good friends, rain and sunshine, the beauty of the night sky, etc… The world is full of wonder and we all get to live in it, no matter what we believe.

Conclusion

If this question was brought to you with heartfelt sincerity I think you could use these four pointers to help plant or water the seed of faith in their life. However, if you are approached with hostility I think the best way to respond is through point 2, then show them you care by following up at a different time. In the words of Frederick William Faber “Kindness has converted more sinners than zeal, eloquence, or learning.”

Spiritual Insight | #2

At the tick tock of 2:40 in the morning listening to the sound of rain gracefully hit our house and the deep steady breathing laying next to me… It’s peaceful. I reach over to get my phone to read some scripture from the famous YouVersion Bible app, but “where should I read?”, I wonder, and meditate as the options of New or Old are presented before me; I choose Old and land in Leviticus at first, but it seemed off of how I needed to be fed spiritually until I found myself in Deuteronomy 4 to get my nutrition, but why? Why here?

I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning (Conclusion)

“17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. 19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.” (Luke 10)

What demons are effecting you? I needed to read this again. The serpents and scorpions I face are but whispers of fleeting pleasures that distract me from my purpose. I ask myself, “How do I defeat them? There are so many.” The enemy whispers back, “here’s an idea…” And so here I am, stuck in this pattern of doubtful questions, my faith deteriorating. Revive me Lord, save me from this present evil, You are my salvation. Your blood alone is the ink of my name in the book of life. I will follow you, teach me by Your Spirit as you taught people in the time of your flesh. I love you. Amen.

A Letter Of Faith To The Unbelieving

Nathan, a believer in the faith of God my Father and Christ Jesus my Lord writing after the example of ambition in the apostles,

To a world under the influence:

It has been written that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that you might not see the image of God. This letter is being written with a prayer, hope, and warning for you to remove the veil that blinds your mind. In the conscience of an unbelieving soul affections are stirred to please oneself. There is a truth of conviction within that is rejected, because the conviction informs our conscience of right and wrong. Where does this conviction come from? There is a power of good and evil within the sphere of life we live, the unbelieving will choose a life of rejecting the truth because of our design incapable of fully grasping the understanding of God, Who is good. We turn from the prayer of God’s desire, that all would be saved, and choose a life of a god (“I don’t need saving”). As once an unbeliever myself, thought myself a believer deluded by the desire to sin. No different than the delusion of those who would call themselves a “good person”, but knew within wasn’t good by the standard of righteousness every soul is convicted of. I was too arrogant to think of myself as someone broken by a fault not my own. Evil would have my unbelief believe that there was no such thing as a faith that can give confidence at the judgement seat of Christ; that I can continue in a sin hidden to the naked eye, and not reap the punishment. Do not mistake the warning of Hell as a threat, but recognize the warning as an authority given to Christ Jesus. The image of God is the Spirit of Jesus Christ in the believer. Jesus Christ was resurrected by God with a new body, not the body that was slain on the cross. A Body that is a Spirit living in every believer, and that Spirit is transforming the body of a believer into a Body of the image of God. And so just as the Spirit of God in the flesh of His Son, Jesus was sacrificed for those who will believe; so to now is the body of believers being sacrificed by the preaching of the gospel as a reflection of the only true sacrifice for the salvation of a believing soul. Now is the time to believe, unbeliever. The grace and mercy of God are here at this time to be received through Christ the Lord, Jesus.

Why was she called, Woman?

Featured photo: Ben Jacobi www.bdjphoto.com

Segment-3

22 The Lord God [t]fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 23 The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
[u]She shall be called [v]Woman,
Because [w]she was taken out of [x]Man.”

(Genesis 2)

In the providence of God, I understand the—woman for man—to mean something beyond the mechanical act of reproduction (be fruitful and multiply). Because, why not just continue to make men as suitable helpers for maintaining the garden? And the simple truth, I believe, is… Love. Is not the personality and nature of God defined as Love? But, with that understanding… I also see an appropriation for the order and governance of that nature, because of—what is evil; meaning that every aspect of creation (until the enacted fruition of Lucifer) was in perfect harmony with God. But what happens in the event any part of creation attempts to become apart from the Creator—what becomes the nature of that ‘part’ of creation? Or… If any created *being* attempts to be as god apart from the true God, then… What becomes the nature of that god? Because there is only One True God that is defined as Holy, Good, Truth and Love. A nature apart from that God, is evil!

So, is it not appropriate for there to be … set consequences, a course that leads to Hell for that which is evil? Of which is automatically entrusted and determined by the True God? (Because believe me, I’d rather it be me condemned not to believe for the sake of every other person to believe and be saved). But that reasoning is a result of what God has done and is doing in me because of believing in His Word as transforming my character into the likeness and image of Jesus. Not because I’ve attained righteousness. But because of an actual relationship with an eternal God through time with His Son (Word of God), it may sound crazy, but Jesus is teaching me about the meaning of what is true.

What had happened in the heavens before that imperfect occurrence on Earth? An evil influence (desires) manifested from the hearts of angelic beings that are now imprisoned until the time of the end. But at the beginning there was only… Harmony. The pure and holy form of intimacy between God and Creation, Man and Woman, Groom (Christ) and Bride that produces the light [or experience] of life in perfect harmony with God as Love. Do we as finite beings assume God is not love and alone because we refuse to see and not believe the ordination of God by the nature of our imperfections? How else is creation going to understand the process of its making if not by the revelation of Jesus? I mean, come-on! How are babies made? So then how does creation exist? The reason she was called “Woman”, I believe, for three reasons:

∞ Wisdom

∞ Love

∞ Life

Which, I think, these three combined produces an enlightenment to an intimate relationship with God. A woman is the answer to how our universe is expanding. The answer to every phenomenon and anomaly. The very Person of God functions as a marriage. An invisible God is manifested through the nature of creation (be fruitful and multiply). In more words… God is the nature of a perfect man and woman multiplying/producing the creation of everything. An invisible Spirit (seed) planted in the womb of Creation. And, it is by that nature of love, we exist! But this is only revealed by the name of Jesus because God calls Him, Son…

See you in the next segment…

Breaching the Threshold

Perversion” from English to Hebrew is translated, ” סְטִיָה “.  Translate that same Hebrew word back to English with google translator and you’ll find, “Deviation“.  When I’ve deviated from the truth of my nature as God made me, becomes a disease.  Genesis 3 is where I found the reason for an inherent deviation in my nature; having a desire for perversion.  “Why-How”, I’d ask myself.  I mean, “I know that it’s wrong”.  It is so “attractive” to have a “secret” that connects me to this other person or to have knowledge by an experience no one else has.  In speaking with a brother just last night about this disease… confessed one to another certain thoughts and matters of the heart that if acted upon would cause destruction.  You’ve been breached with a lie. God in His mercy and amazing grace gave my brother a name to identify this disease.

When you look at this photo, what do you see?  It’s intense and deep, Right!  Well…

Remember Me

It’s me “breaking wind”, it smells real bad! (That’s how to identify this disease)  Ju…st kidding!  Really though.  Reader, whenever you look at your life and see what is spiritually wrong.  Will be given a choice in that moment of whether you’ll continue or listen.  Just as I wrote in the previous blog, “there is an escape”!  I pray you’ll believe me.  It is a moment by moment daily struggle and spiritual war that we face.  You are not alone.  There are innumerable thought patterns that flood our system with desired responses.  The art of a right response will begin and form within ourselves by aligning to the true nature of a Holy God.  This is why meditating on the Word of God is vital!  After having a blessed time with my brother in Christ last night, at Napoli’s Italian restaurant, am convinced that the Hebrew language is a spiritual one.  And, this western language of English is a worldly one.  When I close my eyes to examine myself, see what the nature of sin has cause me to know and understand.  And… it’s painful.  I’m broken.  But also see how I’m being restored through faithfully abiding in the Word of God with my brother’s, sister’s, mother’s and father’s… in Christ.

11 Prescribe and teach these things. 12 Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. 13 Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery. 15 Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all. 16 Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you. (1 Timothy 4)

Perversion breached the threshold of what God saw to be good.  All creation was initially created as good because God is good.  A spiritually evil agenda manifested through the tongue of a serpent.  How can what was evil breach that which is good?  The answer I’ve discovered is, “choice”.  Although I myself am governed to live with the choices I’ve made did not choose to have this life.  It was given by nature of design.  Recognizing this has saved me from death, to commit suicide.  Yah.. I’ve thought of myself being taller with muscles to spare and intellect not compared, but to what gain?  I’m thankful to have life born in Eternity with God than a life breached by a threshold to sin.  Confess yourself to God.  I love you.

Nathan’s Change of Course

Featured photo: Ben Jacobi www.bdjphoto.com

Hi, my name is Nathan. … “Since birth my life has been a winding river changing direction with no end in sight or ‘right’ turn to make.  That-about-sums-it-up.  Until next time.  Peace be with you.”—

It’s funny, I’ve felt that as being heavily the case for this blog site and especially my life here recently.  Thinking to myself, “How can a confused person write blogs about direction without direction?”.  If you’re laughing?  I’m “chuckling” with you in embarrassment, “brushing off the dust of my pride”.  I’ve changed course to a new direction or rather, “the direction of my river has changed course by no power of mine“.  If you’ve “stumbled” across this site as result of this post for the first time, it’s nice to meet you.  Don’t run off.  Consider exploring through the “menu”.  If you’re familiar with this site, please consider revisiting the “menu items” and prepare to be inspired by the changes only a real God influences!  We are seriously loved!

Reader, I have questions coming from way up high, “Left, no.. Right field! Right field”!  What river path of life are you on?  (You will get a glimpse of my path by investigating this site as an example but hope will discover my heart as true in the process?).  Do you know the spiritual direction of your life?  (I know that my spiritual direction has brought me to “here and now” writing to you.).  Why has our courses clashed?  (That is a theory that only one person in the world has proved.).

Are you willing to join me on a journey?  Please, invite your family and bring your friends to explore your answers to these questions.  Our journey will renew the mind and take us out of this world!

Session 3 – An Interviewing by God

Featured photo: Ben Jacobi www.bdjphoto.com

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!” 10 But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. (Job 2)

I understand Job to be an illustration of our present day global suffering to the individual adversities each of us share.  Just as Job had experienced the loss of nearly everything, it wasn’t finished.  Evil has a strategic agenda to confuse the truth with lies, and thereby, challenges our devotion to what is good and righteous.  As long as our hearts receives the approval of those we care so deeply for rather than receiving from the only One Who matters, we’re lost and without understanding; in danger of fearing the wrath of God at the coming of His Son.

Although the wife of Job insists to “Curse God and die!“.  Job is not manipulated by the love he has for his wife; because God supplied and took away what was necessary for this process of understanding the truth of God.  Someone tell me.

  • How did Job come to life?  – Was it not through suffering?

11 Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, they came each one from his own place, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and comfort him. 12 When they lifted up their eyes at a distance and did not recognize him, they raised their voices and wept. And each of them tore his robe and they threw dust over their heads toward the sky. 13 Then they sat down on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights with no one speaking a word to him, for they saw that his pain was very great. (Job 2)

We will not find truth in succumbing to the flattery of friends, nor by believing the accusations against us by self-righteous friends.  However, as Job goes through the turmoil of Satan discovers the character of God and His immense power.  Don’t give up where you are and don’t make the mistake of being someone else’s “god” for the sake of easing their pain.  Live by the understanding that the grace given by God abounds the sins of your life.  Confess and contend with God, but understand this truth, Job repented in dust and ashes when God showed up!  Do you, or we, think, that our place is not the same as Job’s.  Or are you so arrogant as a son or daughter of Satan, to challenge the character of another based on what God has provided for them, and not you?  I pray this is not confused with partiality or being favored by what is given materially, for we all equally have the opportunity at receiving the gift of God.  What have you chosen over that gift?

Interviewed by God – Session 2

Featured photo: Ben Jacobi www.bdjphoto.com

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” (Job 1)

Reader (listener), indulge me, you are the character of Job.  I, the writer, will entertain the character of Satan [….scary thought].

Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.” 12 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord. (Job 1)

Take notice how “Satan” and “Jesus” refer to “God”.  What does it mean to fear God?

Satan:

•”Job, I see your potential and how the fruit of your integrity will produce a bountiful return.  Once dead; people will learn of this character you seem to possess, they will discover how God is good; the seed of your fruit will effect the world, but soon will become confused.”

20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 He said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” 22 Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God. (Job 1)

Satan:

•”Interesting, surely you must be experiencing the weight of a heavy depression.  At this point I’ve distorted the view of right and wrong; knowledge of good and evil is my heaven; yet you think, or seem to have thought to own the right of understanding what is impossible for man to understand.  After all, you were sacrificing for your kids, why, thinking what?  That they would have favor with God and not die in their sins?  What of you, Job?  Do you think you’ll find favor with God by maintaining your integrity?  Now to get you vulnerable; vulnerable enough, to set you up, for my success.  I’ll need access to your soul.  It’s time to present myself again, before Jesus.”

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the Lord. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds fast his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.” Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. However, put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face.” So the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life.” (Job 2)

Satan:

•”Ah Job, you may believe your skin God has rapped you in, preserves your life for salvation, but the sting of death is sin, and the sin of your beginning is mine.  I so look forward to devouring you; to manipulate your emotions, confuse your psyche, and inflict what you fear.  The salvation of preservation is my advantage to use as a means to set the world up at my right hand in the place called, Hell.  Don’t worry, Job. ‘You’re so important to me’.”

The Balance

Untitled-1-21-18_BenJacobi

Feature and Header photo: Ben Jacobi www.bdjphoto.com

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. 10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. 11 Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

It’s attractive … Isn’t it. To live like gods; being judge and juror of our very own live story; determining right from wrong and implementing those standards as laws to be enforced, or the ultimatum. Written off as insignificant like a stand alone tree waiting to die for the sake of being finished…..”what is the point?”. Swearing an oath to an unknown God to “tell the truth, nothing but the truth, so help me”. Complying with societies evolvement for the sake of harmony while it institutes the influence of a One World America, only, with multiple labels. Can you feel the desire to establish dominance? Intimidate by way of provoking to “fear” the one…that falls, alone. Evil says, “Now, I have control; their emotions are at my disposal, worship me!”. Again, Evil speaks, “The coin is my tact and their emotion…my desire.”. And once more, Evil utters, “How shall I groom this Wife of God’s Son for my pleasure, this, ‘mother of all living’ who stands alone?“.

God is the Canyon that provides shelter and a balanced environment for the Caddo Maple tree that signifies our creation is not alone; looking at our photo from Ben. As soon as we think ourselves to be something when we are nothing, we become vulnerable to the deception of not needing our shelter. When we are unlearned; undereducated about the way our emotional make-up is; leaves us without the shelter of God to protect our environment and for evil to achieve its’ purpose. Just as our countries are vulnerable to the seduction of sexy whispers to commit acts of violence…so too are we susceptible to the belief of correcting it, alone.

1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. For each one will bear his own load. The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”– Galatians 6:1-10

I pray we do not mistake knowing where our predator is and how to antidote the course of an evil nature, into good. As parents we either fail to appropriately educate our youth about their sexuality as they experience unfamiliar chemical processes within their bodies to practice self-control or shy away from it because our youth becomes blushed at finding out that we know, “what is going on”! This grievous failure as self-controlled mature adults carries over into prostitution, molestation, rape, murder, bestiality, lying, lawlessness, incarceration, suicide! WHERE IS OUR CARE?!! There are barriers, boundaries, and “SHELTER” for a reason! We need to educate and protect our youth! Also, on that same line of education and protection we need to immerse the love of God on the person or people that appears to be predators. But our predator does not come in the form of flesh and blood, but will use our flesh and blood to destroy and devour the lives around us to achieve its desire. We must master that! Let’s live in the balance of the God of our salvation in Jesus Christ!

A false balance is an abomination to the Lord,
But a just weight is His delight.
When pride comes, then comes dishonor,
But with the humble is wisdom. Proverbs 11:1-2

Unbelievers Transformation Process

Have we discovered the answer to the question of whether God took Enoch from his wife and children in the previous blog? It seems a bit contradictory if not only taken away from that which God joined together, but also from the consequence of tasting death like the rest of us. All have sinned, right? So why are we enduring the consequence of death rather than to continue on in life? Why doesn’t God just enlighten us to the truth about our need for salvation, then save us from death, and bring us to Himself explaining in the way we will understand without having to experience the process? Has anyone ever discovered the answers within the questions? Please consider predestined freewill and that God is not limited by the many words of mankind. We’ll come back to that.

Storm on the Plains

Those considering themselves to be without belief please reconsider. This blog pleads with you to set aside your foresight and just breathe as you read. Don’t become worried or anxious about anything and don’t think “the author is making the mistake of not practicing what is written”. It is time to meet our Creator so please introduce your soul to the Holy Spirit of God. God, I pray for the soul reading this prayer and ask that the Spirit of Your living Word be in the midst of this writing, amen.

It is not through grandiose words in prayer that manifest the proof of God. Prayer is acknowledging that you can’t physically fly or breathe underwater, and that God is not a Genie to expect a wish from. God is the living knowledge about all of creation with a holy desire for all of creation; life’s order, design, chaos, condition, wisdom, love, and eternality. And with every breath…..we breathe life, given by God. So by living in unbelief are we emotionally responding by that choice or is it safeguarding behind the delusion of innocence to divert from the truth about our existence. And then how would we approaprately correct that? Does that mean to become weak and surrender for correction, or, run in terror from the emotional aspect of life — knowing we are all loved by God. If loved by God, what does that mean? To recognize we are vulnerable and mean nothing without God. How do we identify with being a believer now from the purpose we resorted to before? What does it mean to be conditioned as a believing Christian?

To become consciously aware that we are loved by God puts us at a “Fight or Flight” response. We will either fight against vulnerability or run from it because we are “wild”. Compare it to breaking a horse from the wild. In order to ride and navigate a horse we must break the pattern of its’ wild nature, and form a respected bond. Hopefully this process lets the horse know….its needed for a higher purpose; which would go against its natural ability to be wild by nature. Does the horse ever consider the power it has against the person trying to break its’ assumed natural response to be wild? A horse could easily kill the person hoping to submit it. What if horses had the knowledge of people and decided to break people for the horses agenda (planet of the horses)? Anyway, hold that train of thought because that is exactly what the serpent did to deceive the woman in the garden. And also what caused Mankind to kill God. Not because Mankind is more powerful than God, but because of the command not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil didn’t apply to the (crafty) serpent. And without understanding being deceived, Mankind broke the command of their God given nature and killed the Son of God. To clothe Mankind with skin….something had to die. Our skin represents our sin and our sin represents our eternal condemnation and separation from God and that represents our death and death represents the dust of the ground and the dust of ground represents the condition of Mankind. Yet…God knew this…and we are living to witness His Infinite Glory and experience His Everlasting Love.

What happens when a child grows up to be an adult? There becomes a subtle nature and condition of, or to, superiority. A father figure and son figure are subconsciously aware of the alpha adult, but by nature the son has discovered his adulthood and puffs up with pride. Tangent — throw two sons the same age (good and evil) into the mix; one son submits to the aged father while the other decides to challenge the right to alpha. Although these two sons are the same age…the one that challenges the right to alpha is the older and evil because of the pride in thinking he had to earn or give up that right to become something he already was (or already had equal rights to with the father because the son is an adult).

If we are a son or daughter of God choosing not to believe the relationship we have to our Father….then we must be ready for marriage. Because we think ourselves adults capable of handling the worlds chaotic condition without help from our parents; societal orchestrating, national reasoning, vegetation and atmospheric conditioning….not to mention the rest of cosmos-ing. There is a reason for the name of Jesus as we know Him and it is not just because He died for the sins of Mankind; it is because He is the Husband of our faith—God in the form of Man (Son Jesus) resurrected Mankind to His Father giving us equality with Him as children of His reign. Through the name of Jesus we are bonding with our Creator to know Him as Father. Seeking to make sense of it all as children would ask of their parents; was I really created for “a higher purpose” (relationship) or does that mean “I’m submitting to a form of control and manipulation” once married?

The risk to continue in unbelief has eternal consequences. Compare it to a tattoo….what is chosen will leave an articulate scar on our body until we are dead and decayed. That is why the scars in Jesus were still there after His resurrection — those scars are me and you because God had chosen to love us before the foundation of the world and to the point of sending His Only Son in our place on that cross, to prove it. And so that leaves us with a choice….because these very moments will determine the fate of our individual eternity’s. Are you seeking after God for your answers? You are not alone.

UnBelievers Nature

Engineers:

Look how distinct nature is. Not everything is black and white as the law would depict, but look how the contrasts compliment each other. Is it not, too precious, to try and describe with words? So I encourage instead, to describe it by experience. Take time in silence and just … “feel” … the energy of nature.

Black Neck Stilt

21 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah.22 Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters.23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.24 Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Genesis 5:21-24

After syncing with nature. Think on this question based on the biblical verses above. Did God take Enoch from his wife … leaving her to tend to all their children, alone?

Unbelievers,

Since the previous blog, have we discovered truth that satisfies the soul? There is a reason and purpose to the nature of which we live. And as we stop in nature’s course, look to its ground in humility. Do you see our reflection? In it we will discover the majesty of God’s design. If you haven’t found a Bible or someone with a Bible. I encourage you to find one and look into the Word of God with us. Because we are going into the mystery of God together, and His Word does not return void. Watch.

The reason for the word “reflection” was not meant in the perception of looking at yourself through a mirror or “off” water. When we look at the dust of the ground and handle it between our fingers, we are experiencing our reflection. Because we were made from the dust and to dust we will return. We reflect death because of our unbelief and we experience danger; seeming threatened, because of our lack of faith. In the beginning God reassures us of the redemption from this mistake of disobedience and unbelief.

As we continue to look at our reflection. We remember when the enemy questioned us and the reason we became deceived? Remember when (we) Eve said, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat;but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’”? Emphasize ontouch it“. Where did that addition come from? How is Eve an adequate helper to her husband if not permitted to touch the tree? This is all theoretical of course, but being a husband myself would understand the innate nature of Adam to condition the warning from God to protect his wife, “don’t even touch it”. However, I think that also left his wife vulnerable to believe that which was not of God or her husband. Remember, we have a God Who knows what He is doing. What did God tell man? God knew the time was coming for the fruit to be eaten because he orchestrated it knowing what that would mean!…Separation. Does that mean God orchestrated us to sin? No. The orchestration is God having seen all that He created as good, including the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Sin was made available, but not orchestrated for us to commit the act thereof. And; because God understood what we didn’t about sin, knew that we would experience it upon committing the act of believing the serpent of evil. However, thankfully we have an Awesome Husband (that sounds weird being a man, haha, but it makes sense) that is teaching us the way of truth! God knew and knows how to redeem us from that instance of an inevitable decision even to the present moment of sins course.

Man was called Adam, before God saw that it was not good for him to be alone and purposed to create his suitable helper. A male is incomplete without a female in the nature of creation. So then after God presented the female to the male; Man called her, Woman. And it wasn’t until after their mutual agreement of disobedience to consequences, that Adam called his wife’s name, Eve (mother of all living). Now although children were in the foresight of God to complete the Holy Family, that child was not yet born. But we are still talking creation here. Peering into the womb so-to-speak, of creation. Because man will “leave” his father and mother and cleave unto his wife. This is why there are two deaths, but that is for another time.

This creation process appears to relate as the beginning stages of spiritual maturity or material “puberty”? When the serpent presented Eve with a question; her belief was frail, fragile, and needed a man aka husband to step along side her, affirming her status and equality with him as having the power to shut that serpents mouth. She had the authority to tell that serpent to, “go to Hell!”. However, bear in mind the design of our Father. How can we understand the authority unless exercised? And how can we “discern” good from evil unless acquiring the “knowledge” of it. Remember, we are still His Bride! And no serpent is getting in the way of that! God is revealing His Nature; Who He is, to and for us! Preparing our wedding day! And the way He has done that…..is through His Only Son. This resembles the trinity; Father, Mother, Child! = Jesus! The Holy Spirit is preparing to present [us] the Holy Bride to our Holy Groom of faith! And this is an experience of eternal bliss or rather the anticipation for it! No different than a bride anticipating her wedding day! This is what we experience in respect to salvation.

…”Feel it?”…

UnBelievers Birth

One of Ben’s favorite quotes from his favorite photographer is “Sometimes I show up just when God is ready for someone to press the shutter” -Ansel Adams

There is so much biblical narration in that photo above it seems unreal. Wouldn’t do it justice not having it as the featured photo. Ooh.., but, to be! In the “lens”! Of a Photographer (we are (: )! Do we truly grasp the amount of hard work required to experience a photo like that? A lot. Now imagine the hard work of our “Master Designer” to set that moment up for Ben to take the shot, so we can experience that moment with him. Although, don’t know whether that compares, exactly, to a woman giving birth. But, lets go with it. It takes 9 months, for (what seems like a lifetime) of seriously painful moments to give birth to a masterpiece! From moments to years after, marveling, at the innocence of life. Then BOOM! The “Big Bang” reality check! In the midst of all that experience — there was a single moment where the umbilical cord was cut. And salvation is born! An unbelievers Genesis.

Engineers,

Lets begin. If this text is being read and understood by an unbeliever. The hope is to inspire the reason to believe. And then experience the revelation of a lifetime together! It’s time to cut the “unbiblical” cord.

Standard

Unbelievers,

There is no denying that the reader and writer have been conceived and born from the womb of a mother. And if that is something, even now, that you are trying to control whether or not to believe? Then your “author of this blog” is requesting a sit down “chess-game” conversation; only, permit me the first move. And my first move is So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.“.

Before “creation” was born, imagine the “wisdom“ of God. The Spiritual Being of God as a Person without gender — “decided” to relate in nature according to design: male and female, light and darkness, good and evil, life and death. Our God, the Awesome Creator, is the very essence of life. And desired an innocent intimate “relationship” with creation hence “virgin” “woman” to “wife” and “glorified bride”. Imagine logic in the midst of desire; what that must mean, to “feel”, or have “emotion”, but without someone to experience that with. There is a risk of wrong doing, but God “counted” the “cost“. The cost must have meant there are “consequences”, but what was the price? To establish order out of chaos there must be consequences. And the price, well, the price is payed. Creation must be “given access” to choose whether to obey. Not manipulated or controlled to choose and obey. God’s Character is established, and has chosen for Himself the creation of which we exist. And therefore is dominant to that which already existed from Him {before the ladies hurl their “thought stones” – please keep reading – because male and female complete each other without status or question of equality}. Creation appears to be as the “helper” to our “Father“. However, it’s much more in-depth than that! It is the actuality of marriage! Also, that was not meant to be received as God needing help, but rather, “incomplete” without help.

Are you seeing where the “umbilical cord” of creation exists? The only unbiblical “cord” in all of Scripture came out of the mouth of the “serpent“. We were tested with a question and failed, miserably and literally! The imagery is this: the mother of all living is Eve, the likeness and image of Adam is God and the serpent is the umbilical cord of creation. Adam was the original “soul” mate of Eve, but where was his Spirit? Do you not hear the sound of God?

So then…what next? We encounter an “option”. Being like God and of His image leaves us at risk for “uncertainty“. How? There is consequence for — evil. What then is necessary for creation not to suffer the consequence of evil? Don’t make the same mistake twice! Creation was given what the Creator already had; life and the knowledge of it! For what reason? Because of Love. God is Love!!! And He designed it as you and I are experiencing it now! This life is but “milk” to learn and grow from. The solid food and eternal life is a relationship with the Word of God! It is finished! Completed in the Name of Jesus!

Disclaimer — I have a reputation of losing chess games. However, my aim is not ever to destroy my opponents kingdom. I always win because of the relationship built in the time we played. I love you so very much!
