11/21/2022: The Status Of Sin’s Cycle

While I’m in this contraption that describes “experience” (albeit vanity) , you might be someone in the contraption that describes “status”. That might look like moving toward self-sustainability to offer all the same at your discretion, having the power to be god—

Pause: I’m struggling here because I want to use an upper case “G” for god but don’t want to associate the idea with the actual name, God, and confuse the word-play as I allude to us as “God” (by this cycle) when we’re not God.

You and I as “Experience” and “Status” have established the potential for an eternal agenda by this relationship, we are… god.

Status

Oh the perfection of my logic and quality of this feeling upon my mountain, and who can walk these steps to sit on the throne above, steps I’ve levitated to it’s elevation by the power of my status, who can compare to me? Not one has my knowledge nor power to create. I will breathe energy for intellectual genius and establish—pride of life—that you can rule for the purpose of my work, and glory it’s of. I give time it’s meaning, and cause good and evil to become a fruit desired. Be like me! What do you desire? I have your potential, worship yourself!

Reader, what does “status” mean for you? How does that status effect your belief structure? What are your steps to achievement and authority it’s of?

MY DILEMMA

Sitting here at my office again with a stack of books and gingerbread flavored coffee; I just finished another chapter of the book I’m reading; my goal is to have 6 books read by the end of this month. And without going into detail, it’s not likely I’ll finish, nor that simple, but it’s a good goal to aim for. Although this goal is not something I can take credit for, it was inspired through a friend, mentor, and writing coach; thank you Neizan.

My office happens to be outside this time, same coffee spot, and the weather is perfect for our story although bound to change according to the wind advisory notification prompted earlier from my phone, and a friend telling me their Google Nest reported a typhoon today. That’s alright, a little rain never hurt anyone… 

You might be able to help me solve my dilemma to this overwhelming desire to travel and see the world for a twofold purpose, (1) the pleasure and experience of it, and (2) christian evangelism—not in that order of course.
I think it might be more for the pleasure of it than for evangelism because you and I can reach the world through modern day technology, but let’s go a bit deeper by exploring the psychological element.

A Father’s Instruction

Proverbs 4:25

I die daily devotional.

24 Put away from you a deceitful mouth
And put devious speech far from you.
25 Let your eyes look directly ahead
And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.
26 Watch the path of your feet
And all your ways will be established.

It’s convenient for me to look back in the direction of my past, at the cross, and go in that direction. It’s convenient to become the victim. It’s convenient to believe the lie of the devil by living my life to the fullest—whatever that means—and not concern myself about the words or… literature, of biblical wisdom.

However, wisdom inspires my eyes to see the goal. The focus of my gaze is on the Man who went on ahead of all, the Man who took my sin of death, and defeated it! My eyes are looking directly ahead, my gaze is fixed straight in front of me, and the way of resurrection is before me—secure and complete. So although my eyes are blind to see the Man—known as Jesus of Nazareth—I see Him alive today through faith in His gospel of eternal life at the right Hand!

Matthew Henry (P4-V25) Commentary
IV. We must make a covenant with our eyes: “Let them look right on and straight before thee, v. 25. Let the eye be fixed and not wandering; let it not rove after every thing that presents itself, for then it will be diverted [from] good and ensnared in evil. Turn it from beholding vanity; let thy eye be single and not divided; let thy intentions be sincere and uniform, and look not asquint at any by-end.” We must keep our eye upon our Master, and be careful to approve ourselves to him; keep our eye upon our rule, and conform to that; keep our eye upon our mark, the prize of the high calling, and direct all towards that. Oculum in metam–The eye upon the goal.
