I CONFESS

I confess, I’m not there yet. If I’m not sinning one way, it’s another. I know, “Welcome to the obvious Nathan.” Right? That bothers me though, because I believe that a sinful cycle is broken by the power of the Holy Spirit that puts the deeds of my flesh to death, but saying that doesn’t mean anything if there isn’t a result. I can say that I believe with all my heart that the issue of sin in me is broken as I confess “Jesus, my Lord,…”, and the Church in me says, “Through faith, it is, when Jesus returns.” But the Christian in me wonders why I still eat the fruit of sin that Christ took away? How can I eat something that’s been taken away?

What I’m about to write might be controversial, but I’ll clean it up.

The Holy Spirit teaches the Scripture for my understanding, not my local church (1 John 2:26-28). I’ve learned through my local church the meaning of fellowship and worship to God as a body within the Body, but the knowledge of the truth is learned by my personal relationship to the Holy Spirit who teaches me all things in Christ for discerning the nature of my spirit and the spirits of the body gathered around the preaching of the gospel. Why is that important? Christ the Lord has bought the world with His blood, and each person who remains faithful to believe in the Word of God is being saved by Him for an eternal life, which is a life in Him, the nature of Jesus Christ; as opposed to the nature of Satan, which is not a life, but an experience of eternal consequence that eternal beings—as such we are—will inevitably wake up to, if found guilty by maintaining the position of denying the very Person who bailed the world out of jail. That Person is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Eternal Father.

I guess the reason for my writing this is to hope for those who read and believe as I do to pray a prayer of righteousness over my soul, that my conscience guilty of sin will be forgiven and healed. Not that I would escape the necessary discipline as a son of God, on the contrary, I ask for the necessary discipline to overcome the fruit of my sin I desire even now… To eat.

Sky Building

“It’s inconveni—” Lathan stops his loud whisper, sensing the shifted eyes at his direction, the previously distracted crowd now projecting all kinds of curses.

Immediately Lathan thinks; “I’m an idiot.”

Aware of his audience, “Why am I even here?” As he gets up from the coffee bar simultaneously grabbing his drink in the direction of multiple double doors of the Sky Building until a shadow overcasts his presence with the greeters’ of the place, “Where do you think you’re going?”

These greeters are like 10′ tall and about 5,659 pounds thick. Lathan is a grasshopper in their sight.

So Lathan, out of fear for his life, said, “None of your gawdamn business is where I’m going!”—as he stares deep into their souls with the confidence of David when faced against Goliath and his brothers.

The greeters are so taken aback by such crazy boldness their reaction is hesitation and pause, not understanding what just happened as they calculate the issue.

Lathan takes a sip of his coffee, and then, proceeds toward the exit.

“That guy has foul mouth.” Lathan heard in his peripheral and thinks to himself, “Only if you knew the half of it, Hypocrites, trying to shut the way into the kingdom of heaven as you do yourselves, rather than entering therein as guides to those lost at sea.

Journal Entry 8

Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

John 9:9

PRAYER

Thank you Jesus Christ, for sending the Helper— The Holy Spirit that sanctifies us not only to see, but to be changed! I pray, Lord, that those who look upon us as the work of your hands will marvel at what you are doing in the people who believe. Amen.

UNBELIEF

What is the nature of unbelief?

The serpent said to the woman, “You certainly will not die! For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will become like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5)

To extract truth from the Word of God for generating lie, is the, idea. That is what I understand the serpent did with the woman, and once that idea-seed germinated, we can see what happened to her perception about the meaning of truth; the consequence by her shift in perception suppressed the truth she knew for a “new” and “improved” “truth” generated by the word of a serpent. The Word of God became suppressed for the “Word” of that serpent that generated the woman’s unbelief for the serpent’s idea and plan to commence.

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings. (Genesis 3:6-7)

Until tomorrow…
