What Is The Ministry Of Reconciliation?

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.

2 Corinthians 5:11

This is a personal decision and it might be that you have yet to experience what that decision means? I would say that I am still presently experiencing my decision to this ministry. Now… I’m going about this devotion a bit differently. You will see a video with this devotional.

The fear of the Lord convicts us of the consequence for sin, which is His wrath that remains on those who decide not to believe in Jesus Christ. But thank God our Father who has provided this ministry of reconciliation. That wrath is passed over because Jesus Christ the Son of the living God died on the cross to give you and I the blood transfusion of the Lamb. We are saved from the condemnation of sin through a work of faith in the Holy Spirit of God in us. Therefore we are reconciled to God.

What Is Discipline

We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

1 John 4:16

You might have noticed a theme to these “What Is…” devotionals. I’ve stayed around the subject of Judas Iscariot because the relationship between Judas and Jesus reveals the love of God for His enemies; that’s paramount. But it also reveals the authority that is given the Son of Man to remove the restrainer that protects against the lawlessness of Satan (2 Thes 2:7).

God loves us as a Father that disciplines His children (Heb 12:7-11). We can see that happening as Judas exercises miracles, authority over demons, preaches the kingdom at hand (Mat 10:5-8) and even eats the morsel received from Jesus at the passover (Jhn 13:26). So if God loved Judas, why would Satan be permitted to enter into him? Let’s look at this from another angle. Remember when Jesus calls out Peter saying, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” (Luk 22:31-32). What was going on with Peter that Jesus would say this to him? My observation (and Peter please forgive me for where I might be wrong) is his desire to lead by acting on Christ’s behalf, his ambition manifests through insecurities wanting to prove himself. And it looks like Satan was eating that up inside Peter because it wasn’t that Peter wanted to deny Christ, but his zeal was clouding his judgment about what Christ meant regarding thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel (Luk 22:30); possibly felt an erratic jolt of emotions for such a position, not to mention what came next, and didn’t know how to react or respond other than to get ampt. Next thing you know he cuts off a dudes ear and starts cursing… can you relate?! Shoot, I feel like I can!

But what do we make of Satan? This issue of sin dates back to the seed of Adam and is written in our DNA because Adam was not deceived when eating that fruit (1 Tim 2:14, Gen 3:6). And so we were living in the lie of evil because we are of our father the devil (Jhn 8:44) choosing to believe in ourselves rather than the truth of the Word of God (Gen 3:7), which is what Peter was doing by cutting off the right ear of a chief priests’ slave at the arrest of Jesus (Luk 18:10) and then denying Jesus for fear of his own life because it was time for the hour of darkness (Luk 22:53) in fulfillment of scripture. Notice what Jesus said to Simon (Peter),but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; …” Jesus said that He prayed for Peter. And why if Peter has no choice to his faith? After all, God is the one that hardens the heart, and Judas is the one to betray Jesus. So what glory is there to marvel at if God creates His vessels to do what they have no power over? We would be robotic in nature, without option but to marvel. Jesus prayed to His Father who gives us our faith that will either condemn or save us based on the condition of our hearts. And we are either using the faith of God to become hardened like Judas to an illegitimate father (Satan 1 Cor 5:5, 2 Thess 1:9)); or receiving salvation as promised like Peter through a relationship with the love of our heavenly Father (Jesus (Mat 18:14, 1 Tim 2)). Because faith is obeying by believing that Jesus did come in the flesh, and is Son of God, that grants us our promise into the kingdom of God (Jhn 14:6).

The last significant detail about these words of Jesus to Simon is,and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” . There is an obvious mediation going on here by the data revealed about Simon’s heart. Jesus is confident that Simon will be turned again to Peter (Mat 16:18) for the responsibility of His office. But it’s through his portion of faith (Rom 12:3-6) to trust in the seal of the Holy Spirit (Jhn 3:33-36, 2 Tim 2:19-26).

Spiritual Promise | #1 | COVID-19

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake. (1 John 2:12)

Do you think it a coincidence that toilet paper has a better understanding of this promise than the world in a panic over the coronavirus? I pray the hearts of those turning to God in this pandemic will truly consider the faith that accompanies such a promise, because toilet paper won’t save you. Don’t get me wrong, there is wisdom in the 5 “P’s”:

  • Prior. Planning. Prevents. Poor. Performance (Paper).

So in the periodic table you’ll find the elements that describe the make-up of the human body, but what you will not find is the element of faith. Why? Well, ironically, faith consists of the elements that make up the human body’s ability to experience it’s existence… meaning that the elements that make up the human body actually describe the element of faith. How? Well… let’s look at that.

The human body has the ability to experience logical reasoning (such as argument = deductive | inductive | abductive) and intellectual emotions (use of emotional information to guide thinking and behavior, and manage and/or adjust emotions to adapt to environments or achieve one’s goal(s)) credit to God… But also research (Google and Wikipedia).

The data communicates an invisible Creator to all creation, but not proven by elemental evidence unless there is evidence for the element of faith. And… I’ll make the argument that there is using one verse in the Bible, Hebrews 11:1—

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

The fact that you’re reading this presently confirms the substance of assurance because of the relationship between you and what you’re interested in by responding to the evidence of this post.

Now the question becomes directed at the mystery of your interest, what is it you hoped for…or…what do you expect out of this post? The answer will reveal the condition of your heart as you come to realize that someone is capable of hearing the motive of every beat and seeing the intention by it’s sound; there is a tune to the beat of your heart, but who is the someone to interpret such a song?

You may be reading this because you know me by our relationship and are giving me credit to the work of my passion although not really caring about the message itself or… You may not know me and don’t care, but are curious about the information by the title or… The list could go on.

The evidence for this faith element is the response to your conviction. Why do you have the ability to discern right from wrong and good from evil? What is the point of these qualities? If you gave me permission to look into the entirety of your life span, would I find anything wrong or evil if judged by the law of the ten commandments?

Exodus 20:3-17

  • You shall have no other gods before [or besides] Me.
  • You shall not make for yourself [a graven image] an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
  • You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not [hold him guiltless] leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
  • Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who [is in your gates] stays with you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
  • Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
  • You shall not murder.
  • You shall not commit adultery.
  • You shall not steal.
  • You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  • You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

How would you be judged if any part of your life was found in violation of these laws, guilty or not guilty?

If you’re asking me that same question, it would be, shamefully, ‘guilty’. But is it my body that is guilty, or my spirit? Because my body, ultimately, is just a machine, an engine-if you will-but my spirit is the substance that gives my body a personality… So what exactly is innocence if my body is made up of material that is convicted to death, which is the condemnation resulting my conviction (evidence of death) that describes the condition (shame and guilt) of my spirit?

I would conclude that my body is innocent while my spirit is guilty, but why since I had no part of the decision process to be guilty and die… Could it be that I was indoctrinated by my environment of Christianity?

That would be a logical conclusion, but insufficient because of my ability to understand the meaning of indoctrination and capacity to ignore that as my influence for choosing to believe the components that make up my faith separate my environment—matter of fact, my environment would’ve actually indoctrinated me in atheism because of the injustice to my experience of abuse and previous pleasures to personal sins.

Energy is convertible… And I possessed a dark worldly death type of energy (sin) before my conversion experience. There is truth data emitted into our existence by God for our freewill calibrated beings to accept and respond to, and when we do, there is an extraordinary experience that occurs to a person in dire need of salvation. That experience is what I call a ‘providential experience’ because the meaning of this experience is divine in nature and is not explained by human logic, only inspired by the spiritual logic and emotion of God through the Word of God (Revelation 19:13).

That is the reason Christianity should not be defined as the Christian religion… Because it’s not a religion, the experience is defined by the covenant relationship established between a person of belief and faith in Jesus Christ (the Son of God) and God the Father in Heaven which saves the [now innocent] soul (through sanctification of the Holy Spirit) from death and hell by the gift of grace and mercy equating to forgiveness equipped with confidence to live a life of righteousness through faith in the love of God—

Love is the most powerful element to the equation of faith and hope. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Because… God is love (1 John 4:8) and exposes the reality of our sin nature which separates us from God presently, but thankfully He sent His only Son to die the death that condemns us to hell and defeated our enemy of death for us to have life eternal with God again when it’s time!

Come Lord Jesus, come. Amen.

Encouragement to believers labelled by “Labellers”

As I travel through the land of the internet in the work of an Evangelist… I’ve come across some very disturbing insights. There are certain believers within group discussions on Facebook regarding soteriology (“doctrine of salvation”) such as Calvinism and Arminianism which quickly become destructive in nature because of a spiritual condition known as “ego”.

Now… I’m picking on “Calvi’s” and “Armini’s” for the sake of exposing the spiritual issue (ego), if you’re reading this and happen to identify with either of these please know that I’m not telling you ‘it’s wrong to identify as a calvinist or arminianist’. I believe there to be a spiritual discourse between predestination and freewill out of genuine concern for correct teaching on the doctrine of God—based on my observations.

However, it’s come to my attention by associating myself in these two groups—

  • Soteriology 101 Discussion

  • Soteriology 201

—That there is also a “label calling” issue. I’m guilty of this as well, but am learning more and more the sin that is involved. An example would be something like this …

Nathan: Richard, that view of scripture classifies you under  __________ and that is where you’re in error, because  __________ is false doctrine and if you continue in that view you’re continuing in unrepentant sin.

Richard: Nathan, that’s unfair for you to “classify” or label me as __________ when I didn’t claim such and such _________. Just because you hold to  __________ and _________ view does not mean that view is superior to my understanding which according to you is a continuation of “unrepentant sin”… (meaning….not truly saved?).

And let the arguing begin. This arguing did not occur because of the creation of the group, it’s an issue of the heart… a condition of sin that needs looking into because it’s a cancer that influences the mind, “ego”. We need to stop doing this, there is a wise and constructive way to handle our language to edify the Body of Christ (individual members of the same faith in Jesus).

I pray this message finds you well and with peace. If you happen to be a part of the two group discussions listed above (on Facebook), please don’t leave the group… on the contrary, join the group and love on people with the example of Jesus Christ. And if you’re just learning about these groups, I encourage you to join in on the discussions.

If the environment to the discussion groups you’re part of is too toxic, then I encourage you to join this group Soteriology | Salvational Engineering! And if you’re young or old in the christian faith, even of a different faith, or don’t have a faith , you’re invited to that group! Let’s discuss and debate our belief systems in a healthy constructive manner.

In love,

Nathan Dooley

SIN

It’s funny, the featured photo represents the theme well. If you look closely you’ll see little unintended “dots” where I was trying to edit the photo using the “Markup” tool on my iPhone proving that I was “missing the mark” in finalizing the photo. According to the Greek, I “sinned“. Okay, not technically because we’re not dealing with a simple mistake.

It is so much more difficult to try an communicate this understanding on camera than it is to write. But I enjoy the practice, ever learning.

Laying the foundation of spiritual understanding is the practice of putting the desires of your flesh (your life) to death. Because we need to be born again for a new life that will not die. When Adam and Eve “missed the mark” by eating the fruit God commanded them not to eat, they fell short of the glory they once had by not eating that fruit; so they were given over to their choice, which was to die, but that’s not the end.

Adam and Eve were convicted upon hearing the sound of the Lord God among the trees of the garden and hid themselves because they were afraid. Why is that? I believe it’s because they recognized their shame due to enlightenment that fruit possessed. However, they both responded to God’s call. You are also being called. “Where are you?”.
