I am working out what it means to be like an angel if considered worthy to attain the resurrection from the dead (Matthew 22:30, Mark 12:25, Luke 20:36). I have a theory on the transformed person while in the flesh, the gift of salvation to the world, and life after resurrection. Hi, my name is N. C. Rainer, but you can call me R. I am a Pilot, and we’re going to see the world from a different perspective.
“Cleared for takeoff.” As you review the biblical passage below and read it in further context, be attentive to emerging thoughts and questions.
Luke 20:34-38 (emphasis mine)
34 Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and the women are given in marriage, 35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 for they cannot even die anymore, for they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.37 But as for the fact that the dead are raised, even Moses revealed this in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38 Now He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to Him.”
If God gifted only you with the Spirit of Christ as the way of salvation, having inherited eternal life through faith in Jesus, then consider what opportunity you have and how you might share that gift to the world as we climb to 40,000ft above the earth.
