On the throne of this world is a sight so pleasing, her nature is so captivating I desire no escape. The friend of “Experience” and “Status” is “Beauty”—lust of the eyes.

All three mechanisms are in place, but Me and You must work on our Friend for the kingdom of this world to function how we want it to, to fully convert this world’s clock to our purpose and pleasure as each mechanism or gear rotates to the future of our eternal glory.

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Mine and your heart beats to impress upon our Friend, “We will ascend into heaven, we will exalt our throne above the stars of God; we will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; we will ascend above the heights of the clouds, and will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:13-14). Beauty will not resist the fruit of these words, “You surely will not die. [Genesis 3:4]; eat and experience the flavor of wisdom, attain the knowledge of God, and lets produce irresistible love for the purpose of life-everlasting.”

Beauty

Look at and see the nature you’re of, the power you have, and radiance to behold. No imaginative beauty to the eyes of the conscious can compare to your form and image. Too many words exhaust the life-span of any creature willing to take on the description of you.

What features of this world do you see attractive? Why are those features attractive to your eyes? Does the attraction tempt you to commit sin? Do you lust after what you see with your eyes?

“What is the world,” I asked the internet: “the earth, together with all of its countries, peoples, and natural features.”

Following that same link you’ll find among a host of interpretations Wikipedia’s excerpt: “In its most general sense, the term “world” refers to the totality of entities, to the whole of reality or to everything that is.”

I investigated Wikipedia’s article link more in-depth: “In Christianity, the term often connotes the concept of the fallen and corrupt world order of human society, in contrast to the World to Come. The world is frequently cited alongside the flesh and the Devil as a source of temptation that Christians should flee. … In Eastern Christian monasticism or asceticism, the world of mankind is driven by passions. Therefore, the passions of the World are simply called “the world”. Each of these passions are a link to the world of mankind or order of human society. Each of these passions must be overcome in order for a person to receive salvation (Theosis). The process of Theosis is a personal relationship with God.”

It appears the internet “knows” the gospel, although; I don’t exactly align with Wikipedia’s semantics, but it’s useful. For instance: the passions of the World are simply called “the world”. The passions are what the apostle John described, and I’ve diagramed as three mechanisms—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

Experience

Whenever I consider all that is in the world, as though holding the world in the palms of my hands, everything accessible to experience the fullness of life and pleasure of it, every place available to travel without boundaries. What an inescapable contraption—the lust of my flesh. I can feel a force of desire for ultimate success and freedom to food and sexual encounters across the globe. I will have wealth and multiply love as the kings of old. I will live like a god in the wisdom of vanity, all is vanity. I love this world, and this world loves me! I will invent and create into this world things upon which generations will remember my name.

11/17/2022: Sin’s Cycle To Love All That Is In The World

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

In the previous post (above) I gave part of my bible’s commentary for the term “world”, and you also might’ve noticed that the post ended abruptly—sorry for that. The idea is novelty as I attempt a daily post.

Now to proceed in the consequence of our love for this world and all things in it…

The World

As someone who was once disobedient (Rom. 11:30), far off (Eph. 2:13), darkness (Eph. 5:8), alienated and an enemy (Col. 1:21) to God, I can attest with the rest of sinful humanity the effect of a “dead nature”, meaning the consequence of sin to love this world and the things in it. Especially now, in this “Postmodern era” of the digital age and global network, is my love of this world so obvious—even seeming ironic.

It seems unfair that my spiritual condition and biological makeup will only generate what is in the world—that lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life. It is impossible for me to do and say anything that is not of this world and the love of it.

So how can, not loving the world, even be an option?

Do you love the world?
